These examinations are generally held in the latter half of September every year.
Syllabus for Elementary Grade Drawing Examination
1.Still Life: where a group of objects such as bucket, mug, towel, fruit, plate, book, etc will be kept in front of the students. And the students have to draw the objects in the given answer sheets as instructed. Students have give more attention towards the object symmetry and the shadows to make the object look more neat and realistic. Behind all these objects A cloth will be hanged as a curtain or a background so students have to draw that also.
2.Nature Drawing and Colouring: Here a student will be given a real flower or any natural thing one for each student. And they have to draw and paint that object on the given answer sheet. As an object is given in our hand means we may have a detailed look towards the object so drawing the object with the details as possible. I recommend watercolour as a best medium for Nature drawing and throughout the whole exam because watercolours are good for speed work as the time given is limited.
3.Memory Drawing and Design : In memory drawing students will be given a question paper where some instructions and a topic will be given. So according to the topic and instructions students have to draw a scene without any reference picture. As no reference picture is used here only reference from our memory is used so it is called Memory drawing. It will contain the topics like scene of Market, Fair, Zoo, Bus stop, etc.
In Design a topic will be given to the students, so on that topic students have to make or draw a design and colour. Here using the colour scheme is good such as warm colours and cool colours.
4.Design and plane Practical Geometry : In plane practical Geometry, Students will be given the Geometrical question, which they have to solve and draw the diagrams on the provided answer sheets.
